Description

TRIG TY91/TY92 Bluetooth adapter for SkyDemon, Sky-Map and other navigation apps — SD-TY9X-E.

The SD-TY9X-E is a compact Bluetooth adapter that connects between the TC90 control unit and the Sub-D connector of a TRIG TY91/TY92 VHF transceiver without any additional wiring or mechanical modifications. You can then transmit standby and active frequencies directly from the app via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

The adapter also works when an EFIS (Dynon, G3X etc.) is already connected to the radio — we call this feature Dual Source.

Good to know. In SkyDemon, select "Garmin GTR225 Compatible" as the radio type — there is no separate menu entry for the TRIG TY91/TY92. The adapter connects to the TC90 control unit, not to the radio module (25-pin connector).

  • Power supply: No additional power supply required; handles on-board voltages up to 28 V. An integrated fuse provides additional protection.

    I ended up using it in a Piper Cub J3 with excellent results. The solution is quite useful in the J3 as the position of the radio is very awkward. For this setup, it would be better if the unit were 2 mm thinner, but this is just a detail. I want to order an additional unit.
