Which SD-Link adapter is compatible with your avionics?

All SD-Link adapters connect your radio to SkyDemon via Bluetooth – and to Sky-Map, VFRnav, EasyVFR, or XCSoar – and send frequencies from the app to the radio with a tap of your finger . The difference lies in the four variants: Standard, Dual Source, Angled, and PigTail. Here you can see which one is suitable for which situation.

Questions about the choice of variant

Single Source or Dual Source – what is the difference?

Single Source (standard) connects only your radio to the navigation app. Dual Source is intended for cockpits where an EFIS is also connected to the same radio – the adapter then works in parallel with the EFIS.

What is the PigTail variant?

The pigtail is connected via the transceiver's binary connector instead of the wiring harness. This is convenient if your transceiver is connected via a binary connector, for example, the Funke ATR833.

When do I need the angled adapter?

If there's limited space behind the radio and a straight plug won't fit, an angled adapter is a better choice, as it's more compact. The exact installation direction depends on the radio – the adapter finder takes this into account.

Which version is compatible with my radio?

Couldn't this also be done with a generic Bluetooth serial dongle?

A generic dongle only relays raw serial data—wiring, pin assignment, and the protocol of your radio remain your responsibility, and most apps only pair with adapters they recognize. SD-Link is plug-and-play, tailored to your radio, and natively supported by SkyDemon, Sky-Map, VFRnav, EasyVFR, and XCSoar.
