How does the Bluetooth transmission of frequencies from the navigation app work?
Compatible navigation apps such as SkyDemon, Sky-Map, VFRnav, EasyVFR and XCSoar They support the wireless transmission of radio frequencies via Bluetooth directly to compatible radios. You select a frequency in the app and transfer it to the radio with a single tap, instead of setting it manually. The individual steps are shown. Frequencies from SkyDemon send to the radio.
What is a SD-Link Bluetooth adapter and how does it work?
The SD-Link The Bluetooth adapter is a compact BLE adapter that connects the serial interface of your radio to your navigation app – via RS-232 or RS-422, depending on the radio.
What advantages do they offer? SD-Link Adapters compared to other Bluetooth solutions?
Plug-and-play (no cables to lay, no soldering), wide-range power supply 5–28 V, compact design and angled variants for tight cockpits.
For which radios are they suitable? SD-Link-Adapter?
Plug-and-play for uAvionix AV-30, Becker AR620X NG, f.u.n.k.e ATR833, TQ KRT2, TRIG TY91/TY92. For all other radios, there is the Universal Bluetooth-to-RS232 adapter.
How do I connect the adapter to my navigation app?
Example SkyDemonGo to Settings → Third-party devices → Add Bluetooth Device. Select device type, "Radio" function, and save. Choose frequency mode (active/standby) and test in airplane mode. Setup is similar in other compatible apps via their respective device settings.
